With over 25 years’ experience in the apparel industry, from global companies to boutique brands, Kate brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her teaching. She has also taught extensively in post-secondary institutions in Vancouver, Canada, delivering courses in sewing, pattern drafting, product development, and technical design.
She creates supportive, engaging learning environments where students feel confident to experiment, ask questions, and develop their skills at their own pace. Known for her patient, encouraging approach, Kate uses a variety of teaching methods to suit different learning styles and help students build both confidence and capability.
Passionate about sustainability, she also shares techniques in mending and garment repair, helping learners extend the life of their clothing. A lifelong learner herself, she continues to expand her knowledge through further study in Aotearoa New Zealand.
