    Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Maniapoto
     
    Waimārama descends from a strong legacy of cultural stewardship, language revitalisation, and the fight for Indigenous land sovereignty. A native speaker of te reo Māori, her professional work spans education, climate advocacy, cultural consulting, storytelling and innovation. She recently completed the full-immersion programme Te Pīnakitanga ki te Reo Kairangi at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and is part of the fourth intake of Te Matakahi, the 2-year Ngāti Whātua Language and History Programme of Excellence.
