Javier Hernandez
Our new tutor, Javier Hernandez brings a truly global perspective to the classroom. Born in Puerto Rico and having lived and worked across the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, and now New Zealand, Javier spent over 20 years in international financial markets before shifting his focus to education and community work in Auckland. He currently teaches Mandarin and Spanish at Sacred Heart College, alongside community engagement work with the Ōrākei Local Board. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Mandarin, Javier has a genuine passion for language learning and cross-cultural communication. Drawing on his international career and love of current affairs, he's excited to help students build confidence in English while engaging critically with the news stories shaping our world.
